There is not much more i can say about Vangelis’s Blade Runner score that hasn’t already been said by thousands of other blogs, music critics and fans. So I won’t (much)…
It’s amazing to think that this didn’t get an official release until 12 years after it was produced (not taking into consideration the New American Orchestra reinterpretation). The soundtrack, movie, and Mr Vangelis deserve much more than I am willing to write here; having just finished for the day, and with a small holiday beckoning, I’ll just have to let the music do the talking. Enjoy.

I have seen the trilogy cd on amazon, but unfortunately not heard the 2 extra discs. I imagine they are pretty special…?
Chris added these pithy words on Apr 16 08 at 4:03 pmThe release 12 years ago was an album Vangelis put together using the work he’d done for the film (along with some dialogue voice-over bits) and so does not represent a complete score by any mean.
The 3 disc set is, I think, the original release, plus music in the film previously unreleased and then some new stuff to go with the ridiculously anal-geek DVD release (which I of course own and have watched all the way through, even if it’s just for a glimpse of Sean Young’s nipple!)
