Here They Are. They’re The Jam Band…

John Gibbs With The Jam Band - J’ouvert (MP3)

With their ode to the Trinidad street festival (J’ouvert), John Gibbs and his reliable Jam Band lay down some carnival grooves with a menagerie of Afro beats, Caribbean steel drums and melodious vocals.

Released in 1979 on the small Philadelphia label, TEC Records, this, along with ‘Trinidad‘, are more than worth picking up (be warned though, they do not come cheap). If memory serves me correct, Joey Negro did a re-edit of this a while back; probably the easiest/cheapest/lamest way of picking up a ‘hard’ copy…

Surely the easiest and most definitely the lamest way to get this is to download it from a blog. N’est-ce pas?

this is true. however, I/you would not be ‘picking it up’; you would be downloading it. N’est-ce pas?

i have added the word ‘hard’ to erase any confusion to the non record/cd buying community.

merci…
