10 For A Pound…

onion display - norzin wangdu (mp3)

I was just digging through some old records this morning, and stumbled across a Sunday Best compilation/album from 1998. Amongst a rather good selection of tracks, one of my favourites has always been ‘Norzin Wangdu’ by Onion Display. Having not listened to this for a while, I was somewhat intrigued to who wrote it. After a closer inspection, it turns out it was wrote by two of our previous guests, Mr Leo Elstob (A Mountain of One) and Mr Phil Mison (Cantoma)…

It would seem that you do learn something new every day…

Note: After an e-mail from Leo, he informed me that “Norzin Wangdu” actually came from the name of an African design student who had once been in contact with Leo regards some flyers. They then decided to use his name as the track title for a “laugh”; and what a great name it is. Paradoxically, he also admitted to “Onion Display” being quite possibly one of the worst artist names ever - agreed!
