The track is actually from 1984 (ish) but it is also a cover of her original version from the early seventies.

The original version was a biggie at the Parkers (hotel) soul monthly back in the early nineties after Dean Johnson (then manager of Expansion records on Corporation Street) started playing it on heavy rotation.

Ichiban released this on a 12 in about 1990. It was on an album from around the same time called “You Don’t Have to Go” in which the main lady is photographed in an evening dress with an electric guitar (at least that’s how I remember it), which I thought was odd.

I know nothing else about Ms Lynn, so I don’t know if these were represses or what.
