Claussell and high water

manuel gă¶ttsching - ain’t no time (sacred rhythm remix) (mp3)

grand high priest - mary st. mary (sacred rhythm remix) (mp3)

tying a few recent post themes together with a double header from new york stalwart joe claussell. starting with a quite rare (and pretty expensive) track from krautrock icon manuel gă¶ttsching, remixed under joe’s legendary sacred rhythm alias. this is the clausell take on a live recording from a 1979 ash-ra gig, overlayed with tribal drums, overdubs, effects and organ sounds. a similar, or some might say trademark, approach is also taken on his remix of grand high priest, an aretha-franklin samplin’ fierce gospel house record, which surely must be in the running for one of the club records of the year.

i’m finding these running themes quite interesting, so i dare say there’s more new york on the way …

hmmm they seem to be working ok here - any other problems from anyone else? we’re trying some new hosting ideas at the moment, so if problems persist I’ll make them available somewhere else …

Manuel Göttsching will play his ‘E2-E4′ live in Berlin on the 12th of December 2006. Exactly 25 years after invention.
Manuel says, that this track was made “by accident” and never ment to be pressed on vinyl. That changed when he played the track to Richard Branson, the boss of Virgin-Records.
