annie – the wedding (lindstrom and prins thomas remix)
we make no secret about our love of norway here, and this is another chance to heap more worthy praise onto the land of the midnight sun. annie (aka “pop darling of the internet” or “the norwegian kylie”) recently released her well-received “dj kicks” compilation, and “dj kicks” compilation, and k7 have are planning to put out a limited 12″ with the exclusive track “the wedding”. in a move of absolute genius they have commissioned the ever-excellent lindstrom and prins thomas to remix the track, and as expected it doesn’t disappoint.
with the remixers du jour doing their crazy cosmic thing over what definitely seems to be the riff from the knack’s “my sharona” this is a record destined to stay at the front of many a record box for a while to come.

I saw her perform this song live last month, and she sells it with a bold, confident delivery (and then I was lucky enough to take a candid shot with her after the show, which I, of course, couldn’t help but upload to my page). But here the song is quietly confessional – haunting almost. The effects are great. Fantastic! Thanks.
